8/6 Letter to Representative Graves:
August 6th, 2010
Dear Representative Graves,
I watched your presentation for TTF on YouTube. I think you did a terrific job and I thank you for that. Evidently, Mr. Oberstar doesn't understand the situation You can see our TTF situation and how the FAA is ruining our lives. The very people causing this have little or no aviation experience, how do they get those jobs? Please look at our situation on YouTube. at "Threw the Fence, Creswell, Oregon"
I believe this could be a good tool for TTF supporters. By the way, my wife and I have caught dogs running lose on the airport taxi and run-way. We find their owners or take them to the SPCA. I can't believe anyone with TTF would bury an animal on the airport if they have their own land there. If I can be of any help, please call me.
I sent an e-mail, but saw that you do not answer e-mails out of your district.

Response to Representative Oberstar:
Dear Congressman Oberstar,
I had the opportunity to see you speak regarding through the fence (TTF) agreements between pilots and airport sponsors. It appears you do not have a clear view of these agreements. First, you must understand we are not talking about SFO, PDX or LAX. We are talking about small community airports. Most are not large enough to land small jets.
My wife and I have had a TTF agreement with our small town airport for some sixteen years now. There has never been a problem. In-fact, as you have spoken about animals on the airport, my wife and I have found and caught a number of animals roaming the airport taxi and run-ways. We have either called the owner/s or have taken them to the local animal shelter. Had we not been here, they could have caused an accident.
While we are the only people to have TTF access on our airport, there is another airport at Independence, Oregon which has two hundred homes with TTF agreements. They have had this access for over thirty five years, again with no problems. In-fact, they contribute a huge amount of money in property tax to the community that support the schools, fire department and library. They are a large part of that community as are most small airparks.
Sadly, our government for whatever reason hire people from non aviation backgrounds to make these important decisions. I'm speaking of Mr. Randall Fiertz, Acting Deputy Associate Administrator for Airports and Director, Office of Airport Compliance and Field Operations and Ms. Catherine M. Lang, Acting Associate Administrator for Airports. I can not believe the mean spirited letters they have sent out. Their letters make you feel you are in another country other than America.
I would like to ask that you take a few minutes to watch a brief video my wife and I put together. It's not very professional, but heartfelt.
You can see this video at
I can only hope you can see and feel what this TTF is all about and make the right decisions from your important position.
If I can help in any way or answer questions, please contact me.

Response to Representative Oberstar:
Dear Congressman Oberstar.
You mentioned parties, here are some pictures of one of those parties. As you can see the airport community is enjoying a Sunday morning breakfast. The children enjoy the airplanes and rides. This is what it's all about, enjoying our airport and the people. Why would one of our own government agencies want to put a stop to this?

I hope everyone saw the hearings this week. Dr. Blue, you were wonderful! Can anyone email me the FAA's list of 75 publicly funded airports with residential TTF operations? billa@sportys.com
