NO more Camping under your plane at Oshkosh --- EAA Fly In?

Better get the EAA boys in gear to fight this one
Read THE NEW FAA Airport Compliance Manual Order 5190.6B,
Part VI: LAND USE
Chapter 20. Compatible Land Use and Airspace Protection
PAGE 20-7 PARAGRAPH 2 ----- READS
“For this purpose, the FAA considers residential use to include: permanent or long-term living quarters; part-time or secondary residences; and developments known as residential hangars, hangar homes, CAMPGROUNDS, fly-in communities or airpark developments – even when collocated with an aviation hangar or aeronautical facility”.

The above is what the FAA ADO considers unacceptable.

That’s right NO MORE Flyin Camping at FAA funded Airports!!!!

No more staying over night on the field any way any how!!

Every time you and I buy Gas for the plane we pay TAXES that go to the FAA Airport Fund.
Any Airport that does not comply will be cut off from those prepaid tax funds.

Money talks and the FAA ADO is using money to force out whom ever they want.

Don’t they call that TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION?

I have been flying for over 30 Years.
I have taken my family to Flyin Camp Grounds such as Columbia CA State Park (O22),
Nevada County Airport (GOO) and others. Where they have nice fly in camp grounds.
I used to take my family to the Historic Nut Tree Airport (VCB) where we would like to ride the little train to the restaurant.
The people that drove to the Nut Tree restaurant could ride the little train out to the airport and look at the planes.
Well the train is gone and there is a FENCE now.
With the FAA ADO stand on Through the Fence, I would say my future grand children will never see something like that.

There are many Groups that fly in to use these campgrounds, and ones like them all over the country.

Are you ready to give up these and others?
Sure I agree fully that all airports need to be protected from encroachment.
But locking the Public out as far as you can get them, dose not promote Aviation.
It just keeps ignorance and the fear of the unknown going.

In the horseless carriage days, restrictions, laws and ordinances were made to keep those horseless carriages away from the public.
The reasons were many, including, noise, safety, and smell, ect.
In the beginning the horseless carriage was restricted from many towns, cities and residential areas.
In most cases the real reasons for the restrictions came from ignorance and fear of the unknown. And of course no one was ever going to give up the horse and buggy.
When the Public came to understand the true benefits of the automobile, --- that is when the dream of having a home with a two car garage became real.
The dream has stayed alive because of education and not fear of the unknown.

Take it one step further, just imagine this:

A city or county needs money to maintain there public roads and streets.
They could get 95% paid to do the job, if they do as they are told.
They are told the roads and streets are for public and not for private use.

There have been problems with vehicle traffic and these are:
1. Safety
2. Security
3. Noise
These will be listed in a one thousand page doc. (just imagine all the reasons)

In order to receive the funds they must:
1. Fence off all private driveways to stop access to public streets, due to possible
Economic advantage.
2. Residential areas are incompatible with vehicle traffic due to Safety, Security and
Noise. Therefore existing public residential streets will have to be blocked
3. All future developments known as residential will be denied public road access
If someone wants to drive their vehicle to there home they can build their own roads,
On their own property without public funds. Further NO private roads shall be allowed
to access public roads.
So that taxing is equal all those building private roads will be taxed for their private
roads and both the public roads weather they use the public roads or not.
We could go on and on here ---- But -----

If the Oklahoma City bombing had taken place in the days of the horseless carriage, the automobile world as we know it now, would never be.

Since 911 the general public perceives all aircraft as a potential weapon.
The FAA ADO needs to think about melding the Public with their future.
Not taking an old world out of date stand.
(I am not talking about safety zones)
Like buying up land and pushing people back, has just put a bandage on expansion of aviation.
No I am talking about:
New definitions and positive suggestions on bringing people closer to aviation.
This is really the wave of the future.
Bigger locks and higher fences only perpetuate fear of the unknown.
By putting up a fence that blocks someone’s Hangar Home from access to the airport, is equal to putting them and there home in an INTERNMENT CAMP where they can look through the fence only.
They were there all these years already without a problem.

This is safety and security in the name of WWII hysteria!

I was born in the Midwest. Worked hard for every dollar I made. Always paid my taxes
And believe this is the land of the free and home of the brave.

I got my dream of living with my car and my plane.

I live in a Through the Fence OPEN TO THE PUBLIC (with fuel on field, rental car and an FBO maintance shop) Airpark.
Why is it open to the Public, because that is who we are!
Public Taxpayers! That are paying double taxes and, who do not take BRIBES!
I am not ready to give up flying, driving, camping, or my home.

How about you?
