Mr. Blankenship,

I wanted to thank you for your advice and help with regard to solving the Right of Way issue with the Martinsburg airport. I provided a solution, as we discussed, to sell my current right of way to the airport and use the funding to construct another. I asked the Airport Authority to vote on the solution so I would know to proceed with the negotiations with other parties. Unfortunately, the Authority chose to ignore the offer and did not bring it up for a vote one way or the other. When I asked why, They could not provide an answer, and stated they wanted to buy all through the fence properties. I asked what those details were, again they stated they could not provide an answer.

Jeff Grove Explains the Problems Experienced at the Martinsburg WV Airport:

I have enjoyed your web site. We at Martinsburg WV also have a delimma. Their have been three TTF operators on the field for years, one dating back to 1950. The Airport Authority say the FAA is making them cancel all TTF, we both know that 5190.6b say somthing different. However, our Authority is using funds from the FAA to press their case.

If you want to see how low their go to get at you go to wvairport.org and read p.40 of the minimum operating standards Par. 316. According to this crap they will give us just one year and then they have the option to buy our property at "market value", of course what is the market going to be when you can't get to the airport.

Attorneys say they might get away with this crap, the one owner has been on this airport for almost 60 years and his widow is upset and doesn't know what to do, she is 83. Very nice when the FAA helps them do this crap. It will cost alot to fight them.
