Safety concerns could lead to a loss of grant money for facility in Independence

INDEPENDENCE — For more than 30 years, the airpark here has been adjacent to the Independence State Airport, thriving without so much as a peep of a problem. Now a problem is on the radar, and it has less to do with the airport or airpark than it does with the Federal Aviation Administration.  Recent FAA documents have made it clear that the agency is opposed to airparks with "through-the-fence" access at publicly funded airports.
